CVCNU Delegation Commends NSUK on Transformative Leadership, Calls for Greater Collaboration

The Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) has commended Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), for its bold reforms and strategic  growth under the leadership of Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman.

A delegation led by the CVCNU Secretary-General, Prof. Andrew Haruna, visited the university as part of a strategic engagement tour. The team was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor and her management staff at the University’s Senate Building.

Showcasing a Year of Impact

The visit opened with a specially curated video presentation, spotlighting Prof. Liman’s first year in office. The trailer highlighted major achievements on:

  • Digitisation of university Processes, including the launch of a Computer Based Test (CBT) system that has boosted internal revenue generation.
  • Curriculum reforms tailored to modern academic and industry demands.
  • Global partnerships, including a collaboration with Lincoln University of Malaysia.
  • Stronger community-university engagement, fostering inclusive development.

In his remarks, Prof. Andrew Haruna praised the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership and vision stating:

Nasarawa State University has become a model of academic innovation, inclusive governance, and strategic growth. Under Prof. Liman’s leadership, the institution demonstrates a future ready and socially responsive posture that aligns with CVCNU’s vision for Nigerian universities”.

Strategic Discussions
 The Interactive session focused on several national policy and academic priorities:

  • Advocacy for TETFUND sponsorship inclusion for state universities.
  • A proposed regulatory framework for managing and publicising records of students expelled for cult related activities.
  • Building sustainable models for research commercialisation across Nigerian higher institutions.

The meeting underscored the need for collaborative strategies among university administrators and policymakers.

The visit concluded with a guided rooftop tour of NSUK’s Senate Building. The panoramic view served as a fitting symbol of the university’s growing visibility and landscape.
