CVCNU & EFCC to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Efforts in Nigerian Universities

The Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), led by Secretary-General Prof. Andrew Haruna, paid a courtesy visit to the EFCC Headquarters on May 20, 2025, to explore strategic partnerships in promoting transparency, accountability, and institutional integrity across the Nigerian university system.
During the visit, Prof. Haruna emphasized the need for collaboration on capacity building, university-based anti-corruption campaigns, support for whistle-blower frameworks, and joint research on corruption and governance in higher education.

The EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, welcomed the initiative and expressed readiness to work with the CVCNU, noting the critical role universities play in shaping a corruption-free future. He also proposed a joint committee to design fraud risk assessment frameworks and curriculum development to embed anti-corruption education.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a culture of integrity, ethical leadership, and national development through this timely and strategic alliance.
