CVCNU PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE TOR TIV (BEGHA U TIV) IN GBOKO, BENUE STATE
The Committee of Vice – Chancellors of Nigerian Universities on the 28th September, 2021 paid a Courtesy Visit to His Majesty, Orcivirgh Professor James Ortese Ayaste, Tor Tiv the 5th.
A delegation of Six (6) from the Secretariat was led by the Secretary- General of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, Professor Yakubu Aboki Ochefu, the Deputy Secretary General Mr. Adigun A. Olayiwola, Assistant Secretary General on Technology Project and Services Department, Mr. Jacob Ayua, Head of Communications Ms. Karen Daaor and the Executive Secretary to the Secretary- General Ms. Joy Ambrose Onoboh.
We were received warmly and Professor Ochefu gave a brief address on our two- fold mission as a body to the palace. First, he appreciated His Majesty on giving a prompt response to our request for a visit and facilitate with him on the great Job he is doing for the Tiv people of Benue State and Nigeria at large. He also used the medium to congratulate His Majesty on his appointment as Chancellor of University of Benin and acknowledged his consistent advocacy for reforms in education.

Secondly, Professor Ochefu in his address formally intimated His Majesty with some of our current projects and solicited for collaboration and support. He most respectfully requested that the CVCNU will be honored to have him grace our 60th Anniversary Grand Finale as the “Royal Father of the Day” being the first former member of the Association to be a paramount King.

The visit was successful as His Majesty commended the efforts of the Secretary – General and the CVCNU as a whole in the various projects achieved so far especially the launching of EagleScan Anti-Plagiarism Detection Software. His Majesty graciously accepted to honor our request to be the Royal Father of the Day at the CVCNU @ 60 Grand Finale which will hold in October 2022.
