REPORT ON THE 25TH NUGA GAMES HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, MAKURDI FROM APRIL 19-30, 2017

The hosting rights of the 25th NUGA Games were awarded to the University of Agriculture, Makurdi (UAM) in 2013.  At the end of the 24th NUGA Games held at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife the NUGA flag was handed to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha.

OPENING CEREMONY

The Opening Ceremony of the 25th NUGA Games took place at the Sports Centre of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi.  Notable among the dignitaries at the occasion were the Secretary-General of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, Prof. M. O. Faborode, the Secretary to the Benue State Government who stood in for the Governor who later declared the games opened.

CLOSING CEREMONY

The Closing Ceremony took place on April 29, 2017 at the same venue where the opening ceremony was held a week earlier.

That of the activities of the Closing Ceremony included the final football match between the host and the University of Ilorin and the former won the match by 3 goals to 1.

Some of the dignitaries that attended the Closing Ceremony included the Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse and the Deputy Governor of Benue State, Engr. Benson Abuonu, who eventually declared the Games closed.
