Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu founded in 2009

Oduduwa University a University named after the progenitor of The Yoruba race (Oduduwa), is a private, state-of-the-art higher institution having academicians, elite, professionals and business moguls drawn from the general public as members of the Board of Trustees and the Governing Council respectively.
The University, a private modern tertiary institution is conceived not only as ultimate response to either Government’s call for contributions to educational developmental programmes in the country by the private sector or individual or a group of people or religious body, but also to serve as a catalyst in the educational development of the people within the catchments areas in particular and the world in general.

The University seeks an exploration of new insights on objectives and values with a readiness to deal with the ambiguities produced by rapid changes and sensitivity to social, psychological and global problems based on keen awareness to scientific developments.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief (Dr.) Ramon Adegoke Adedoyin, has been involved in education for more than two and a half decades. He worked as a primary school teacher shortly after leaving secondary school, taught in a secondary school after his NCE programme and eventually organized a tutorial college during and after obtaining the B.Sc Degree in (Mathematics) Education. The tutorial college he founded as an undergraduate eventually metamorphosised into one of the private Polytechnics approved by the Federal Government through the National Board for Technical Education. His zeal and enthusiasm for providing qualitative education for humanity irrespective of race, colour and/or creed fired his ambition to put his resources in establishing Oduduwa University  Ipetumodu, Ife, NLG, Osun State.

The University is located at IPETUMODU, a town in Osun state six kilometres (6km) away from Ile-Ife. It is on a parcel of land of about one hundred (100) hectares and is already fairly developed with some infrastructure that will adequately serve for the institution’s permanent site. There is enough room and opportunity for expansion if more land is required in the nearest future.
There are also many surrounding towns serving as feeders and support to IPETUMODU in all its day-to-day activities i.e. economically, socially, politically, technologically e.t.c.

The strategic geographical location of IPETUMODU and its environs is an indisputable asset to the proposed training and development (at the University) of graduates who shall have the opportunity of industrial work experience with Federal Government industrial establishments like the Osogbo Steel Rolling Mill, the Power Holding Company of Nigeria also in Osogbo, the Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort Centre in Ondo State and the lgbessi Cultural Centre in Kwara State; all located not too far away from the University town. The serene and quiet location of the University is an asset to learning and conducive to future technological development programmes. Osun state as a whole is blessed with a good network of roads. In short, it may be concluded that IPETUMODU is highly and uniquely blessed when one considers her ample means of transportation and communication, which are usually crucial in a fast developing society like Nigeria.

The introduction of the GSM is a boost to the development of easy communication between IPETUMODU and the whole world in general.
These factors, added to the training facilities available in the University and other adjoining industrial establishments around the town will enhance and serve as a catalyst to the University holding a prominent and leading position among other Universities of its kind in future. In addition to all these attributes, the local populace is avowed to assisting the development programme of the University both in infrastructure and security, while other services like Nigerian Telecommunications Plc, Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plc, Water Corporation and even the Local Government have all expressed their joy and preparedness to support the University by making their services readily available to the University at its take off and in future.
