| Prof Essien is a Sedimentologist with specialty in carbonate and clastic sedimentology. He graduated from the University of Calabar . Born in the month of July 1962 and hails from Nyara Eyin Ntong Uno in Ikot Ekpene local government area of Akwa Ibom State . He holds professional membership in reputable associations including Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, American Association of Petroleum Geologist, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists, etc. He holds a Masters degree in Petroleum Geology/Sedimentology and PhD in Carbonate Sedimentology.
