AAU Inaugurates New Governing Board Members
The Association of African Universities (AAU) inaugurated a 17-member Governing Board during its General Conference which was held virtually.
The new Board, which has some of our distinguished Vice-Chancellors elected on the Governing Board representing the West African Region .

- Professor Elisabetta Smaranda Olarinda (Board Member, West Africa Region) Vice – Chancellor Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti
- Professor Adebayo Abiodun (Alternate Board Member, West Africa Region) Vice Chancellor Covenant University, Ota
The Association of African Universities (AAU) is headquartered in Accra Ghana and was created by the African Universities to promote cooperation and collaboration among them and between them and the International Academic Community. The AAU aims to improve the quality of African Higher Education and also strengthen its contribution to Africa’s development by supporting the higher education core functions and consensus building on issues affecting higher education in Africa.
The Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) is elated and congratulates all the newly elected members of the Governing Board.
