Courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE)

The Secretary-General of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), Professor Andrew Haruna, and his team paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Professor Chijioke Okwelle.
The purpose of the visit was to appreciate and reaffirm the shared commitment to advancing higher education in Nigeria. In his remarks, Professor Haruna emphasized the pivotal role the NCCE has played in ensuring that Colleges of Education produce skilled, competent, and well-prepared educators, who are essential to the development of Nigeria’s educational system. He commended the Commission for its efforts in fostering and strengthening the foundation of learning at all levels.

In his welcome address, Professor Okwelle appreciated the CVCNU team for recognizing the importance of the Commission’s work and pledged to continue working together to explore new avenues for collaboration and synergy between both institutions. He affirmed the need for joint efforts in building a more robust educational framework that will contribute to national development.
Additionally, Dr. Babatunde Samuel Aremu, one of the Directors of the Commission, expressed gratitude for the timely visit and highlighted the need for sharing ideas and ensuring inclusion in programs and trainings to enhance collaboration and mutual growth between CVCNU and NCCE.
