PROFESSOR BABALOLA WINS AFRICAN UNION KWAME NKRUMA AWARD

Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, Vice-Chancellor, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, was one of the recipients of the prestigious African Union Kwame Nkrumah Regional Awards for Scientific Excellence Programme, 2019 Edition.

The award is in recognition of Professor Babalola’s numerous contributions to development in Africa through her ground breaking and award winning research works which have shot her to the limelight as the first female professor of Pharmacy at the University of Ibadan, the first female dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan, the first female pharmacist inducted as Fellow, Nigerian Academy of Science – the highest scientific award in Nigeria, the first female Nigerian inducted as Fellow, African Academy of Sciences and the first female pharmacist to become a Vice-Chancellor at Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
