Dr. Olaghere is currently the Acting Assistant Secretary General, Project, Programmes, and Training Department at the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) and serves as the Nigeria Country Officer for the Association of African Universities (AAU) and the liaison officer for the Build for Nigeria Affordable housing projects for students and people living in slums in Nigeria.
Dr. Sylverina D. Olaghere is a Project Management Professional who is certified as a practitioner of Projects in Controlled Environments (PRINCE2) from the United Kingdom. She is a graduate of International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU, Ile-Ife). She holds a Master’s Degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria. She has a Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy.
She is a Programmes Manager and has organized over 100 trainings, International Summits, conferences, workshops, Study tours, Mobility Schemes, International Knowledge Sharing Sessions for the leadership of Nigerian Universities in various relevant areas such as Gender Equity in Higher Education Leadership, Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Health Sciences, Alternative Source of Funding for Universities, Technology Driven Campus Security Systems, 21st Century Universities Governance models, Alumni Economy, Research and Data Ethics for excellence in Africa, Promoting University- Industry Linkages to mention a few. Through her work with the committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, she has worked on programmes in partnerships/collaborations with leading Universities in the world, governmental and non-governmental organizations such as TrustAfrica, Nigerian National Universities Commission, Association of African Universities (AAU), Google, Stanford University , University of Lincoln, University of Mauritius, International Group of Education Transfer (IGET), Universities UK International to mention a few.
Her professional certifications include Projects in Controlled Environments (Practitioner), International Certificates in Monitoring and Evaluation, Assessment and Learning (MEAL), other certifications include, Leading for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education from the University of Michigan, United States, IC3 Digital Literacy Certification. Her professional Membership include Project Management Professional Institute (PMI) and Projects in Controlled Environments (PRINCE 2). She enjoys travelling, sports (football and squash) and old-school music.
